Stourbridge Automotive Ltd were amongst the list of sponsors for the first years’ Dudley Community Awards evening, in conjunction with Halesowen and Dudley News & Stourbridge News.
The winners were all revealed in a glittering ceremony at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill. Everyone was dressed in their best attire, as the community gathered to celebrate the very finest in the borough and all they do to help make the region unique. The awards were designed to recognise those that go the extra mile for the community, from individuals and families to businesses and charities.
Furthermore, the Dudley Borough Community Awards, was in partnership with the University of Worcester. Each of the stories, reflected those told in Newsquest’s newspapers every day, whilst giving people a chance to be recognised.
Finalist Winners
There were three finalists in each of the 12 categories, with Stourbridge Automotive Ltd sponsoring ‘Best independent Trader of the Year’ award, won by Broadmark Doors who have been in business for only three years in the local area. The award was given on the night by Director Kay Fellows, who attended the evening with her colleague Valessa Mallin.
On the night there was an overall winner being Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer. Chair of the board of trustees, Shelley Duncan, said: “It was delightful to receive a local award as we’re a local charity. All the money that’s raised in this area stays in this area.” “We’re a hands on charity and we’ll do what we can to help people.”
Finally, Stourbridge Automotive Ltd hope to be asked to be a sponsor again, as it was a lovely event and we felt very proud to be part of what made the night happen for these worthy winners.
