The new eagerly awaited UK number plate is finally here! Released on the 1st September 2023, the new 73 number plate now features on all brand-new UK cars.
What does this mean for buyers?
It means that a for car buyer wanting to get their hands on the latest plate, that the September plate is now available which is the 73-plate edition. This edition is current from 1st September 2023 until the 29th February 2024.
It also means that since the UK launched Brexit, that the new plates no longer features the old EU symbol of yellow stars on a navy-blue background. Instead, they display the Union Jack flag and with the letters GB clearly marked underneath in a white font, on a royal blue background.
For electric cars, green number plates, remain in place as a clear symbol to other road users, that electric is environmentally friendly and a sign of our future. Often more economical to drive than petrol or diesel vehicles, choosing to buy an EV vehicle is beginning to become a very popular option for automotive customers.
